Products report
How many students started each product and how far they got: students, progress, lessons and certificates, and the report that shows where they stop.
The products report shows, product by product, how many students have access, how many started and how far they got. From it you open each product's lessons report, which shows the lesson where students stop.
What it is for
- Many with access, few with progress. Students bought and did not start. Look at the welcome email and the first lesson.
- Views drop from one lesson to the next. That is where students stop. Compare with the dislikes of the previous lesson.
- Low average progress in an old product. The average includes whoever opened one lesson and never came back. To see student by student, filter the student list by the product and export it. The file carries each student's progress (see Students).
The report is in Reports → Products, in the Learning group.
The product list
At the top, two account numbers: Total courses and Certificates issued.
The list shows the products of showcases that were not deleted, in showcase order. A hidden showcase still shows. Each row is one product:
| Column | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Product | The showcase and the name. The name opens the product in Content → Products |
| Students | Two numbers, With progress / access: how many students have opened some lesson and how many have access to the product today |
| Progress | The average progress: completed lessons divided by published lessons times students with progress |
| Lessons | How many lessons the product has. Click to open the lessons report (View lesson report) |
| Certificates | How many certificates the product issued. Click to open the certificates report already filtered by the product (View this course’s certificates) |
- A product with no students with access shows zero in Students and Progress.
- A product with no lessons does not open the lessons report.
- Some certificates come from products the list does not show: deleted, outside a showcase or with the certificate turned off. They appear in the footer, in the Other products (deleted or without an active certificate) row. That way the column adds up to the number at the top.
Filters
- Search product... finds a product by name, in any showcase.
- The Showcase chip filters the list by one or more showcases.
You can use the two together. The two numbers at the top do not change.
The lessons report
- Open Reports → Products.
- Click the product's row or the Lessons number.
The Views and ratings per lesson screen opens. It is the same screen as the Lessons tab of the Reports group inside the product.
Four cards summarize the product:
| Card | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Students with progress | How many students have opened some lesson. Below it, N students with access (not shown for a free product) |
| Accesses | How many times the product's lesson pages were opened, over the whole history (in lessons of this product). It counts lesson openings, not video plays |
| Average progress | The same average as the list, with N lessons completed below |
| Likes / dislikes | The share of likes among the ratings, with the counts on each side |
Below the cards, the lessons show by module and submodule, in the order of the lessons screen. Each lesson shows:
- its views: how many times the lesson page was opened (the same count as Accesses);
- its likes and dislikes;
- the Draft mark, if the lesson is a draft.
Click the title to open the lesson editor. This only works for those with permission to edit lessons.
Good to know
Updated every 24 hours.
Students, progress, accesses and ratings update once a day. What happened today shows tomorrow.
Accesses and views count lesson openings, not video plays.
Each time a student opens a lesson page, it counts once. This holds with or without a video, and even without a play. The same student opening the lesson three times counts three. It does not count when the lesson does not open for the student: no access, acceptance terms pending or lesson not released yet. It also does not count when an administrator views the area as a student.
Average progress.
It considers only those who have opened some lesson. Whoever has access and never entered the product does not pull the average down.
Draft lessons.
They appear in the lessons report. They do not count in the published lessons that divide the progress, but their completions count in the sum of completed lessons. That is why a product with completed draft lessons may show a higher progress. Progress never goes above 100%.
Certificate count.
The Certificates column uses the same count as the certificates report: issuances to students outside the trash, not counting reissues.
Frequently asked questions
A student finished a lesson today and the progress did not change.
The report updates once a day. The lesson counts tomorrow.
A student watched the video three times. Does it count three views?
It counts three if they opened the lesson page three times. The count is by lesson opening, not by play.
